PREGNANT WORKING RISK ASSESSMENTS
Employers must, by law, assess the risks to women of childbearing age as part of your general workplace risk assessment.
You must also carry out an individual risk assessment, that covers your worker’s specific needs, when they have informed you in writing that they:
- are pregnant
- are breastfeeding, or
- have given birth in the last 6 months
Recommended Frequency: Each Trimester

WORK STATION ASSESSMENT
Reasons for Assessments
A workstation assessment, also known as a Display Screen Equipment (DSE) assessment or an Ergonomic Assessment, is a systematic evaluation of a workspace to identify potential health risks and ensure it’s optimised for comfort and safety. It focuses on the user’s interaction with their equipment, furniture, and work environment to prevent musculoskeletal disorders and other health issues.
Anthropometric measurements are taken in relation to sourcing correct chair.
Recommended Frequency: If any positive responses from DSE assessment is highlighted or if long term health complaints occur.
Appointment Times: 45 – 90 minutes

WORK PLACE ASSESSMENT
Reasons for Assessments
A structured assessment of a work environment to identify potential hazards and improve overall working conditions. It involves a systematic examination of the site, including work areas, equipment, and common spaces, to evaluate risks to employee health and safety.
Recommended Frequency: If any health complications occur and an assessment is required.
Appointment Times: 3 hours
